Free Texas Hold’em in a Wild West saloon

Poker House is a free online Texas Hold’em game for Android, iOS and the web browser. You sit down at a four-seat table inside a lantern-lit 1890s saloon, get two private cards, and play against real people in real time. Every table runs the standard no-limit Hold’em rules used in card rooms around the world, so what you learn here carries over to any home game or casino table.

Play uses virtual chips only. Chips and gems have no cash value, cannot be cashed out, and nothing in the game can be won or lost for real money. It is a social card game for adults who enjoy poker as a game of skill, reading people, and good timing.

How a hand of Hold’em works

  1. The blinds. Two players post forced bets, the small blind and the big blind, so every hand starts with something to win. The dealer button moves one seat clockwise each hand.
  2. Pre-flop. Everyone receives two hole cards face down. Starting left of the big blind, each player can fold, call or raise.
  3. The flop, turn and river. Five community cards are dealt face up: three on the flop, then one on the turn and one on the river. A betting round follows each street.
  4. The showdown. Players who are still in show their cards. The best five-card hand, built from any mix of your two cards and the five on the board, wins the pot. If everyone else folds earlier, the last player standing takes it without showing.

The hand ranking from strongest to weakest is royal flush, straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair and high card. When two players hold the same hand, the kicker (the highest unused card) breaks the tie, and an exact tie splits the pot.
